The Slovenian Cultural Garden (SCG) will again be participating in One World Day (OWD), Sunday, 8/30/2026. We need your support that day so we can showcase the SCG in a positive way.
The SCG is located between Martin Luther King Blvd. and East Blvd. in Rockefeller Park, 820 East Blvd, Cleveland, OH 44108. It was dedicated as the Jugoslav Garden in December 1932, and formally opened on May 15, 1938, but on June 21, 1995, it was renamed the Slovenian Cultural Garden. For more details about our garden: Slovenian Cultural Garden Association (SCGA). SCGA is a 501(c)(3) Organization.
We are celebrating America's 250th birthday this year, because of this celebration, the OWD event planners expect record-breaking crowds at this event compared to previous years.

If you want to participate in the Parade of Flags, please sign-up so we have a count.
Parade of Flags Details Event Map – 80th annual One World Day
Time: Kicks off at 12:00 p.m. (noon). Please gather by 11:50am.
Route: Starts at the Ethiopian Garden, travels north past Centennial Peace Plaza, and ends at the Lithuanian Garden.
Dress Code: Highly encouraged to wear the Slovenian national costume or the SCG t-shirt.
T-Shirt Rules & Ordering
Free Shirts: First 50 people to sign up get a free t-shirt if they did not receive one in 2025.
Sizing: Specify your size in the sign-up form to avoid getting a random size.
Returning Volunteers: Note in the sign-up if you already own the 2025 SCG t-shirt.
Purchases: Extra shirts are available for $20 each and must be ordered through the sign-up.
August 10th is the deadline for placing your SCG t-shirt order.
Immediately after the parade, we invite you to gather at the Centennial Peace Plaza for the Opening Ceremony and then distinguished performances. For more information: 80th annual One World Day – Sunday, August 30, 2026 from 11am to 6pm | Rain or Shine.
You can "travel around the world." Pick up a copy of your Passport to Peace and visit the gardens. It has been a wonderful tool to encourage people to visit the individual gardens and to learn about the different cultures represented.
Please note MLK and East Boulevards will be closed to ongoing automotive traffic from 7:00 a.m. until midnight on August 30, 2026.
Parking & Shuttle Logistics. Parking is free at two main locations:
North Lot (via I-90): Metroparks Lakefront Park (8701 Lakeshore Blvd). School bus shuttles will be available.
South Lot: VA Hospital Employee Parking Garage (1606 E. 105th St). Trams and golf carts will be available for garden-to-garden travel.
